theHEAP (Highfield Eco Allotment Project), based in Levenshulme, Manchester, aims to create a sustainable community allotment where people of different ages and backgrounds can come together to share skills and experience of organic food growing.
Initial objectives include organising workshops, activity days, and outreach work to promote environmental and food education, health through exercise, vegan organic growing, permaculture, bioregionalism and cooperative living, low carbon alternatives and climate change solutions.
We also want to grow tasty local organic food!
If you want to join in send us an email or come to one of our open workdays - most wednesdays, 11-4, and the third sunday of the month, again 11-4. probably worth sending an e-mail in advance to confirm we’ll be there though…
We also have monthly meetings on the 2nd thursday of the month. we’ve just changed our meeting location to be at the Blue Bell pub in Levenshulme. we meet at 6.30pm
